Physical Education
We have PE every Friday morning. Your child will need to bring their school PE kit to school. This consists of a Yellow t-shirt, black shorts/joggers and a pair of trainers in a bag.
Snack
As we promote Healthy Schools we ask that all children have healthy snack in school. This consists of either fresh fruit, vegetables, dried fruit or yoghurt. We ask that all children bring their own water bottle into school which they can have unlimited access to throughout the school day.
Blended Learning
We will use Seesaw to keep you informed about your child’s learning in school. We will upload suggested ideas and activities that your child can do at home to give them a head start into the following weeks learning this will be distributed on a Friday afternoon, it will be uploaded via the platform Google Classroom. This can also be accessed on our learning station.
Reading
In Year 4 and 5, we encourage reading as it is a passport to countless adventures. We do group guided reading every day. This consists of whole class activities and grouped activities which are targeted for progression at their skill level. This ensures we can support and challenge each child. It is important that children read as much as possible, in school and at home. Reading does not always have to be in a book, we can practise our reading all of the time by reading story books, fact files, comics, recipes, posters, leaflets and even instruction. We use Oxford Owl for our reading in school and at home.
Worries and Concerns
As a school we feel that open and honest communication with parents is key. We welcome regular contact with parents via the messaging service on the Seesaw app we use within school. Should you have any worries or concerns about your child please voice these with your child’s class teacher and we will endeavor to put your mind at ease!
