Oaks Learning Journey 23/24

In Dosbarth Miss Gabriel we are ambitious, capable learners who strive to be the best we can be. Take a look at what we have been exploring so far this year:

Ambitious, Capable Learners

We are ambitious and capable learners. We use our voices to express what we want to learn about and we lead our learning through pupil voice.

Enterprising, Creative Contributors

Oaks 4&5 organised a MacMillan Coffee Morning on behalf of Ysgol Tanyfron. They planned an assembly for their families, organised games and baked lots of treats to sell at our bake sale. The children were able to raise a huge £700 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

We are Enterprising, Creative Contributors. Who not only enjoy learning new skills but like to put our skills to the test and contribute to our community.

Healthy, Confident Individuals

This year Oaks 4&5 took part in Joe Wicks Workout in aid of Children in Need 2023. The children took part in different fitness challenges to answer quiz questions. What fun it was!

Spooktacular Day! What a scary bunch!

We are Healthy, Confident Individuals who enjoy exploring our local area and enjoy challenging ourselves.

We have a growth mindset. We like to push ourselves out of our comfort zone to learn, explore and enjoy new adventures and challenges.

Year 5 pupils on their residential to Nant BH, exploring Cwm Idwal.

Ethical, Informed Citizens

Following pupil voice, Oaks have been exploring the history of WW2 as part of our topic ‘Heroes & Villains’. We went to RAF Cosford as a ‘hook day’ to fully emerge the children into our topic.

We are Ethically, Informed Citizens of Wales. We were proud to support Wales Football Team through their journey in the World Cup.
