Croeso i ddosbarth Miss Jones, Nursery.
Welcome to Ysgol Tanyfron’s Nursery class page 2020 -2021.
Our first weeks starting Nursery are spent getting to know the children, as they are welcomed into class. The children can enjoy the opportunity of getting to know the Nursery environment, their peers and the supporting adults.
The structure of our sessions are held as: –
8.55am We start the session by putting our coats on our pegs then washing our hands before then sitting on the carpet to join in with songs and rhymes.
We self-register initially by placing a photo of ourselves on the chart. We sing our ‘Bore da’ song and then we do the register, and we answer ‘Yma’,
Next we do the ‘Busy train’; our visual time-able – where we discuss the days of the week, then find out the plan for the day ahead (which can include ‘jobs’ time, P.E, snack time, choosing time and more). Throughout the morning, we have our activity sessions that range from language, numeracy, Welsh, Forest School, art, P.E etc.
We promote Health & Wellbeing in Nursery, and wash our hands often throughout the day. We also promote healthy eating in school, and have our healthy snack of fruit, water/milk, whilst sat together, having a chat about our morning, or discussing our news.
We then continue the morning with ‘planning’ where children choose where they would like to work/play.
We are fortunate to have a lovely outdoor classroom, and we are currently in the process of making it even better! Please keep an eye on the changes to our outdoor area soon!
At 11.15am we get ready for home, by putting our coats on, and listen to songs, stories and rhymes.
11.25am is time to go home, ready to do it all again another day!
Thank you for all of your continued and valued support. For further information, please see the attached booklet
Days for the diary:
PE is on a Wednesday morning; please ensure that children are dressed appropriately for the weather. Trainers, jogging bottoms, hoodies etc are allowed also.
We are happy to provide snack for your children (variety of fruit or vegetables) at the small cost of £1 a week, or £10 a term. The children enjoy this time, sat together at the tables. Likes and dislikes are taken into account but children are encouraged to try new tastes. You may choose to send snack (fruit or vegetables only please) with your child for snack time, if you prefer.
If your child is allergic to any particular food, then please inform the school.
We are looking forward to a year of exploring, playing, learning and making lots of new friends!
