Ysgol Tanyfron provides a breakfast club for all school pupils (Nursery to Year 6), and this is very popular with parents/guardians with an average attendance per day of 50 pupils.
Breakfast club starts at 08.00am and final admittance is 08.40am. The final serving of breakfast is 08.35am, pupils arriving after this time are not able to have a breakfast.
From March 2019 the local authority has implemented a charge of £1.00 per session for pupils attending Breakfast Club between 08.00am and 08.30am. Pupils are also requested to book into Breakfast Club in advance, however we fully understand parents/guardians daily routine can change so we operate a ‘turn-up on the day’ service if required. Half termly Booking forms are available via the school office or the ‘School News’ area of the school website and should be returned to Mrs Hughes.
Parents/guardians with children in Nursery through to Year 4 must ensure that they escort their child(ren) to the entrance foyer and complete the signing in process to ensure each child’s safety and comply with insurance purposes.
Breakfast is not compulsory although all pupils are encouraged to eat a breakfast. Pupils are given a wide range of breakfast to choose from as detailed below –
- Slices of toast
- Bowl of cereal (Rice Krispies/Cornflakes & Weetabix)
- Unlimited water.
The breakfast club is based in the main school hall and offers a wide range of activities for the pupils once breakfast is completed.
Mrs Halliwell is the school cook and Mrs H Hughes is the senior supervisor. Breakfast club is also staffed by Mrs Thomas and Miss Reese.
