Welcome Message

As the Chair of Governors at Ysgol Tanyfron Primary School. It gives me great pleasure to explain our role to current parents/guardians, prospective families and any visitors to the school website. I am also delighted to share with you the current make up of the governing body for the 2023-24 academic year on our ‘Who’s Who?’ page.

How we Work

Our Governing body works very closely with school, parents/guardians and most importantly our pupils; to provide the best educational setting we can. We pride ourselves on our vision of Growing our pupils into the best version of themselves’, through embracing an open door policy, family engagement and supporting the school’s needs.

The governing body has established a number of committees and statutory panels.  We meet as a Full Governing Body every half term. The Governing Bodies committees also meet together every term to review and discuss the details of the school life.

As Governors we also share a common objective which is the wider school community. To achieve this, and to carry out our role as Governors effectively, we need to know what issues are important to you (so we remain responsive) and ensure that you know what issues Governors are discussing (so that we remain accountable). That is why as Governors we work closely with Mrs Jones and Staff to ensure that we continue to deliver a high standard of education to our children at Ysgol Tanyfron.

What do Governors at Ysgol Tanyfron –

The Governing Body has three specific roles these are:

  • To be strategic
  • To act as critical friend in the development of the school
  • To be accountable to the whole school community

If you have a concern or a point of view to share please let us know. We can be contacted via the School Office, by e-mail [email protected] or by approaching any of the governing body on the school yard.

With best wishes

Mr S Wynne
