Croeso i’r Dosbarth Mrs Humberstone
During every term, we learn about a new and exciting topic. Our topic for the Spring Term is ‘Tomorrow’s World’. We are looking forward to finding out about what our world could look like in the future!
We love reading in Year 3 and so every day we complete a reading task. Every Monday is individual reading time and Guided Reading activities are completed for the rest of the week. It is important that we read as much as possible, in school and at home. Reading does not always have to be in a book, we can practise our reading all of the time by reading story books, fact files, comics, recipes, posters, leaflets and even instructions.
We like being active in Year 3 and we enjoy our P.E. sessions every Friday afternoon.
Please ensure P.E. kits are brought to school every Friday ready for these sessions. Your child will need a yellow polo shirt, black shorts/jogging bottoms (Winter) and appropriate footwear such as pumps or trainers.
In Year 3, we use our homework tasks to help to support our learning. Sometimes homework tasks will be based around the skills we have been learning during our lessons and they will help us to practise and develop our skills further. Sometimes tasks will be set to help us with our future learning, such as finding out information about a topic we are going to be learning about. Homework is sent home each week on a Friday on our Google Classroom page. Please make sure that homework is completed and returned to school on a Monday.
Pupil voice is very important in Ysgol Tanyfron and so from Year 2 to Year 6, children are invited to join our school council. School council is responsible for sharing the views and opinions of pupils with staff and governors. This allows our children to feel more involved with decisions about school life.
